Alternative Program – Science (CORPORATE INFORMATION)

In Science, students explore and investigate big questions related to the world around them. When students learn through the lens of science, they move beyond factual recall and develop the science-related attitudes, skills and knowledge needed to solve problems and make decisions. Students become lifelong learners by maintaining their sense of wonder about the world around them

In Science, students are provided with opportunities to develop the competencies required of engaged thinkers and ethical citizens with an entrepreneurial spirit.

Is the Science Program the Right Choice for my child?

A successful student demonstrates:

  • a love of science and curiosity about how the world works
  • willingness to take risks in learning and is comfortable with ambiguity
  • a resiliency for learning in outdoor environments in all weather conditions
  • a willingness to conform to uniform regulations when/where expected

 Important Dates:

  • Monday, January 13 – Registration opens for 2025-2026
  • Thursday, January 15 – Self-Guided Open House (5:30pm- 6:30 pm)
  • Tuesday, February 11 (noon) – Registration closes at 12:00 pm
  • Wednesday, February 12 – Lottery is held, if numbers require it
  • Thursday, February 27 - Lottery results communicated to successful applicants by this date.
  • Deadline for successful applicants to confirm acceptance of placement at the school is within 10 days from the date of the acceptance letter. 

The PowerPoint presentation will be posted to the school website after January 29, 2026. Registration packages will be accepted beginning on Monday, January 12, 2026.
