Grade 9 Fundraiser | Coco Brooks

Thank you everyone who was able to purchase products during our fundraiser with Coco Brooks for the grade 9 farewell. Please remember the pick-up date for your products will be Thursday, May 15, after school. We do not have room to store your goods, please ensure you have made a plan with your children and how the product will be transported that day. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Matthew Hawes at mbhawes@cbe.ab.ca

Learning Commons | Book Returns

The library books have to be back by May 30 this school year.  Parents, please look at home and send any Ian Bazalgette books back to school so they can be signed in.  The absolute deadline for this is May 16, after which time charges are pending on your MyCBE accounts.

Lunch | Ordering Food to the School

We remain a closed campus at lunchtime. We want to remind families that students need to bring their lunch or eat the lunches provided by school. We are not able to provide access to microwaves for student use. As a reminder, we are not able to receive Skip the Dishes, Door Dash, Uber Eats, etc. in the main office. The driver will be asked to return the delivery to the restaurant.

Lunch | School Supervision - Local Community

The local community centre and local strip mall are open to students at lunch, as the school supports Junior High School students with growing levels of freedoms and responsibilities. However, please remember that there is no staff supervision of these locations. Please have conversations with your student(s) about being aware of their surroundings when out in public spaces, and about avoiding interactions with strangers.

Personal Mobile Devices Reminder

A reminder that personal mobile devices are not allowed in school during school hours. We have spent most of the year educating students as we shifted to this Alberta Education policy in schools, which has meant that we have continue to only educate most students about the consequences for ignoring inappropriate use.

We will now begin implementing consequences for third and fourth incidents.

Consequences for Inappropriate Use

Students are expected to follow Administrative Regulation 6005: Student Code of Conduct. Students who refuse may be subject to Administrative Regulation 6006: Progressive Student Discipline.

First Incident: Verbal Warning

Student is reminded of the expectations regarding responsible use of Personal Mobile Devices and/or social media.

Second Incident: Confiscation and Parent/Guardian Informed

Student will turn in the mobile device to the teacher, who will call an Assistant Principal to come and meet the student to discuss the matter and take then take the device to the office. It will be returned to the student at the end of the school day. Parent/guardian is informed by the teacher.

Third Incident: Confiscation and Parent/Guardian Involvement

Student will turn in the mobile device directly to the office. Phone will only be available for pick-up by parent. An Administrator will contact the parents/guardians to inform them of the repeated infraction.

Fourth Incident: Loss of Privileges

Student will not bring the mobile device to school or will turn it into the office at the beginning of day and retrieve it when they leave for the day.

School Council

  • Please think about joining School Council in the fall.
  • Please think about signing up for our next casino fundraiser in the fall of 2026.  Every school works casino shifts and this is a huge fundraiser for the school to buy big ticket items that cannot be budgeted.

School Fees

Please review your MyCBE Account and make sure you are up-to-date with your payments.

Schools cannot cover all costs to offer the programming they do. Continued refusal to pay fees may mean a suspension of certain programming in option courses next year, or cancellation of field trips.
