School Fees
The availability of rich learning opportunities outside of our core courses at Ian Bazalgette is made possible by school fees. While we understand the inflationary world in which we currently live is making it more expensive for all of us it is important to note these same inflationary levers also impact school expenditures, particularly in our Art, Construction, and Foods areas--areas that students and families often cite as areas of strength of programming at Ian Bazalgette School.
Listed below is the percentage of fees still owed to the school in our complementary courses:
Percentage of Optional Course Fees Still Outstanding:
Course Owe
Art 65%
Construction 60%
Foods 59%
Recreational Leadership 56%
Training for Excellence 69%
Parents will soon be receiving copies of their outstanding fees in the mail. We kindly ask that you pay them as soon as possible.
All applicable fees are available to view and pay online through MyCBE Account. Payments may also be made in cash, debit card, or credit card in person at our Main Office.
Families that would like to set up a longer-term fee payment plan are encouraged to contact our Main Office (slditlof@cbe.ab.ca).
Update | Grade 6 Provincial Achievement Tests 2023/24 School Year
Alberta Education has announced that Grade 6 English language arts and literature (ELAL) and mathematics provincial achievement tests will not be administered in the 2023/2024 school year.
Alberta Education will instead offer field testing between April and June 2024. These optional field tests will be on Vretta and will help inform the development of future PATs for Grade 6 English language arts and literature and mathematics that align with new curriculum in these subjects.
It is important to note that Science 6 and Social Studies 6 PATs will still be administered using Vretta for all Grade 6 CBE students in June 2024. FLA 6 PATs will also continue to be administered for those not piloting new curriculum.
All Grade 9 PATs will also continue to be administered using Vretta in May/June of 2024.
