Good morning, Ian Bazalgette Community.
It looks as though winter is finally on its way, with snow predicted for most of the week. Please ensure students are prepared for the weather, including going outside for P.E.
Important Upcoming Events and School Information:
Parent Teacher Conferences - Thursday, November 27 & Friday, November 28
- The Parent Teacher Conferences run on Thursday, November 27 (4:30 p.m.- 7:30 p.m.) and Friday, November 28 (8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.) The conferences will be conducted in-person on both dates.
- Please use the My School Conferences app in their MyCBE account to select your child’s teachers and book available time slots. If a teacher has no openings, please email them directly to arrange an alternate meeting time if needed.
- Teachers at Ian Bazalgette School are always available for conversation via email and are happy to discuss student learning and progress toward course outcomes.
- We also encourage parents to regularly check their MyCBE/PowerSchool accounts for up-to-date information on grades and attendance. With 24/7 access, we hope this helps support ongoing learning conversations at home.

Dressing for the Weather
- Use extra caution when crossing the streets – sometimes cars have a difficult time stopping when it is slippery
- Busses can be late due to poor driving conditions – ensure you are checking for bus updates and dressing for the weather
- Dress every day for outside activities. Snow pants, hat, mittens/gloves - Please no scarves as these can be a choking hazard
- Snow at school stays on the ground - children are never allowed to throw snow at school as it can cause injuries
- Snow packs down around the school and school grounds into ice despite Ms. Li's best efforts to keep the snow clear. We recommend to walk like a penguin and use care when using the walkways around the school.

Holiday Fundraiser Campaign
This year, considering the costs of basic things such as food, we will be fund raising money to purchase grocery and mall gift cards that will be given to families in need to buy food, winter accessories, household items, and so.
If you would like, you can make a donation or ask friends or family if they would like to donate. Please visit or share our Ian Bazalgette Holiday Campaign on the Education Matters website. Any monetary donations of $20 or more will be issued a tax receipt from Education Matters.
Our goal is $3000, which will go a long way to helping many families in our school community.
Personal Mobile Devices
Parents are asked to refrain from contacting their child/student on their PMD during the school day to avoid unnecessary distraction. Parents can contact the school office who can facilitate contact with their child/student during the school day, if needed.
