I would like to extend my gratitude to our incredible students. They have all worked hard this year and have accomplished much. Their curiosity and enthusiasm have truly made our school a vibrant and inspiring place to be.
To my exceptional staff, I want to express my deepest gratitude for your unwavering commitment to the education and the well-being of our students. Ian Bazalgette provides much to our students and the communities we serve. There is so much pride in what we do.

Inform | Modular Changes
Dear parents/guardians
We are happy to inform you that the Government of Alberta has approved the relocation of a modular unit from a CBE school to Ian Bazalgette School. This modular will add 25 additional student learning spaces to your school. CBE requested the relocation of these modular units in the 2023-24 Modular Classroom Program, which was submitted to the provincial government.
We anticipate that the installation of the modulars will begin this summer and be completed by late September. Safety measures will be taken to ensure the safety of students and community members who use the playground or school site while the installation occurs. This includes enclosing the construction area, scheduling work to avoid disrupting learning and operating within specific hours according to municipal bylaws. We will update you if there are any changes to the anticipated schedule.
If you have any questions about this work, you may email accommodation@cbe.ab.ca.
Thank you,
Calgary Board of Education
Important Busing Information
Changes in enrolment at Valley View and Ian Bazalgette Schools will result in changes to transportation, there will be a need for more school buses in the new school year. To accommodate this, you will soon see changes to the bus zones along 26 Avenue SE.

WAM | Program Closure
Unfortunately, the Calgary Food Bank (CFB) has informed us, after a recent internal evaluation, that have decided to close WAM (Weekends and More Program). The end date for the program is June 30, 2024.
Families that require support will be asked to access hampers, for their family, directly though CFB. Communication to parents advising of this will be provided from CFB in the hampers going out this week.
CFB will continue to support students during the school day through the current collaboration they have with Breakfast Club of Canada.
Moving over the Summer?
As we begin the planning process, it is important to have an accurate idea of the number of students returning to us for the 2024-202 school year. Extra students may mean the need to hire another teacher, while fewer students may mean the opposite. If you are planning on moving over the summer or have enrolled your child in an alternative program or school please an email to Mrs. Ditlof at slditlof@cbe.ab.ca letting us know where you will be moving, school name, and the full name of your child. Thank you for helping us in this process.
