Good morning, Ian Bazalgette Community.

Unfortunately there was a technical glitch that prevented the school newsletter from being sent yesterday.

A reminder that there are only twenty-four school days remaining in the year. Please assist your student(s) by making sure they understand the importance of proper sleep as the time of daylight gets longer. Additionally, makes sure they are on top of their studies as we get closer to Provincial Achievement Tests and other final assessments.

Lastly, this is the last week for Grade 9 Fundraising. Please get your orders in prior to May 30.

Please see information for this week:

Grade 9 Farewell Fundraising

The grade 9s are beginning their next fundraiser for their farewell this year. This is one of our biggest fundraisers we do in participation with Coco Brooks. Grade 9 students have registered as sellers with Coco Brooks and have access codes they can give to parents/guardians, family friends, and others so people may make orders. If you do not know someone who is registered as a seller you may also use this link to make an order directly through the school: https://fundraising.cocobrooks.com/invite/verify?code=fugle-fools How to make an order and how you will receive your products are listed below. Orders need to be completed by May 30.

Ordering Process

1. Get the Customer Invitation Code from your seller to access the campaign. Customer goes to fundraising.cocobrooks.com, enters this invitation code, activates it and sign in as a CUSTOMER. If the customer hasn't used the program before, customer needs to sign-in as a new user.

2. When the person is already linked to the campaign as a customer, the customer can download and print order forms and product list (Printable Forms button) or you can go to the tab where the products are.

3. When the customer is ready to place an order, click the Add Order button to enter order online.  Enter your information on the fields required and once saved, enter the products that you want to purchase and the quantity.  After you are done, choose the payment that you would like to use.  Customer can pay with cash, cheque payable to the group, credit card or debit card.

4.If you have started an order online but haven’t finished it yet and would like to finish it some other time, please go back to the order that you created under the orders tab.  Do not add a new order as this will create duplicates in the system and will be left as open orders on the website.  When you are under the orders tab, click the order id number to view the order that you have started.  You can then finalize and pay for it once all the products that you want to purchase are in. If you have entered your e-mail address when you add an order, you will receive a copy of the receipt in the e-mail address that you provided.

5. Coordinate with your seller on when they will deliver your order to you.

6. If there are discrepancies on the order, inform your seller what you are missing so that they can check it with the rest of their customers or to the coordinator. Wait for instructions on how to get the missing items.

Reminder | Grade 6 Provincial Achievement Tests 2023/24 School Year

Alberta Education has announced that Grade 6 English language arts and literature (ELAL) and mathematics provincial achievement tests will not be administered in the 2023/2024 school year.

Alberta Education will instead offer field testing between April and June 2024. These optional field tests will be on Vretta and will help inform the development of future PATs for Grade 6 English language arts and literature and mathematics that align with new curriculum in these subjects.

It is important to note that Science 6 and Social Studies 6 PATs will still be administered using Vretta for all Grade 6 CBE students in June 2024. FLA 6 PATs will also continue to be administered for those not piloting new curriculum.
